Improvements to cleaning process (US2971)

During the last weeks we have been working on numerous changes and additions to the cleaning process. These changes should make it possible to do calculations on performance in more details and only in the areas where needed. This should though not affect the customers that have been using the cleaning process until now.

New action to change cleaning information

We have added a new action into the building space module so that it is possible to change some cleaning parameters on one ore more building spaces at a time. Not only is this action available through the regular action menu, but it is also possible to press the "finger" icon above the interactive drawing, then press the building spaces you would like to change and right click to open up the action menu where this new action can be found.

Image CaptionIn the action window you can choose which of these cleaning parameters (see picture below) should be changed on the selected building spaces. If you leave a drop down list containing "Do not change existing registration" it will make no change to the information for that field on each of the building spaces.

Reference size of cleaning model vs. building space cleaning area

There are some new additions on cleaning module that we want to point out. First of all there has been added a new dimension called cleaning module type, where you can register what kind of model this is - it could be like a grouping of all models with high performance or for models with same frequency per week.

Since cleaning performance can vary enormously from a small space to a big space we are now also introducing an option to register reference size on cleaning model so that you can see if the size of the building space using this cleaning model fits into the cleaning performance calculations.

When this reference size (min and max) has been registered on all cleaning models, you will be able to see for each building space through the list if it fits the reference size for its model. So easily the user can update the models on the building spaces, based on this information so the calculations will be more accurate. This is also added into the filtering so you can i.e. view the building spaces that are outside reference size.

Cleaning calculation on a specific set of building spaces

Until now it has only been possible to calculate performance values on one building space at a time (by saving the record) or by running an action that calculates the values for all building spaces that are to clean. We have now changed this so you have a more flexibility to run the calculation on a specific floor, building or a site.

More flexibility in scaling factors

For dirt level and furnishing factors it has until now only been possible to select from three values: 0,9 - 1,0 - 1,1. Here we have added values on both sides so that it is possible from now on to select from seven options from 0,7 - 1,3. These factors are used in calculation on performance in a way that a large scaling factor decreases the cleaning performance.

Frequency and a new factor that affects performance calculation

We have now changed how you register the cleaning frequency for a cleaning model and/or a building space. This is now a fixed number representing how many times per week the building space is to be cleaned instead of an input number before. So in version 20.10 you will select the frequency from a dropdown list and the frequency registered prior will be converted from this number field into a respective value in this table.  In version 20.10 it will also be possible to set a new global setting for cleaning process so that it adds into calculations a factor based on the cleaning frequency. This factor is fixed for each frequency and raises with higher frequency. This factor is used in calculations on performance in a way that the performance increases if the area is cleaned more often.

Cleaning frequency - factor
1 - 1.0000
2 - 1.178
3 - 1.258
4 - 1.303
5 - 1.338
6 - 1.354
7 - 1.369
10 - 1.398
14 - 1.419
0.5 - 0.779
0.25 - 0.549

This new global setting can be set in System settings for cleaning process. If you turn this on the factor is used in calculations, otherwise not. Remember to save (Execute) your changes if you make any. Notice though that the factor is shown in the frequency selection even if it is not affecting calculation.

Adjustable cleaning settings for types of buildings

Now we introduce an option to have a different base settings according to the type of a building if i.e. hospitals would have more work hours per day or work days per year than a school building.

On the main type you can select the setting that fits this type of building (and register new settings if needed)

Like in this example we have a setup that will use the following parameters for all building spaces within buildings of type "Theaters, concerts and cinemas"

But of course if no special setting is registered on the building type, than the global setting in system configuration will be used. We also want to mention that there are factors on buildings and building spaces that can be used to vary from those settings.

Time it takes to clean a building space (i43128)

We have added the option to input a new field in the window and list for a building space that shows how many minutes you might assume it would take to clean the room, based on the cleaning area and base performance calculation.
