Registration of locations
It is possible to register location structure manually or by importing data from national register (if it exists in your country), Excel, AutoCAD, BIM or import from other external databases.
This step focuses on registration of the location structure that in the MainManager terminology are the following objects:
- Sites
- Buildings
- Floors
- Building spaces
- Outdoor areas
On the left side, the location structure for a site is displayed. On the right side the type of structure for locations is shown (defined in step Classification systems). Below is it described how to create the structure with drag/drop, but notice that above the left tree there are also other various actions for creating data into the location structure.
To begin with, a site must be registered and the site is the main object in the location structure. To create a new site, start by selecting the portfolio the site should belong to (can later be linked to several portfolios) and press the plus button.
Enter attributes into the registration window and press the Save button. A site will be created and linked to the active portfolio.
After this, the user can select this site (1) in the drop down above the list (top filter) and begin dragging types from the right side (2) to the left to create buildings, floors and spaces (3). You enter the number of objects you want to create each time. Created objects are first displayed with red color in the left tree.
As an example, if you want to create a building space under a floor that already exists, then you first select the floor on the left side. The type tree on the right changes to show only building space types. Then you drag the space type to the left and building spaces (4) are created under the selected floor.
