Article summary

Introduction

On 19.march 2021 we will release version 20.4 of MainManager FM. Originally we had planned to release this version two weeks earlier but since we made some changes in the underlying framework that needed some comprehensive testing we decided to delay the release date. These underlying changes were done to prepare our standard version of the software which we intend to release later this year. Along with these changes the code has been made simpler which also leads to lower risk for errors.

Here below we will list up the new features that this release will contain.

If further information is needed please contact your MainManager contact, send an inquiry to info@mainmanager.com or call us at +354 412 8600.

General additions and changes

Human resources process

We have now added an option to configure a Human resources process. This is done to be able to split up the things that are specifically related to access management in the Access management process, and setup of organisations and their employees along with some management of certificates etc. in the Human resources process.

If you want to have this process available, please contact your project manager.

External page to register incidents

We have added a module so it is possible to set up an external web page to register incidents through. You can read about how this works in Configuration>External pages

BIM processing

As MainManager is using BIMsync to process BIM models we have now made some improvements to support BIMsync v2 API. Along with this, few new actions have been made as a part of the importing process for BIM projects and models.

BIM user and BIMsync user

Now it is possible to create a specific BIM user in MainManager and authenticate to an external user in BIMsync. Normally this BIM user in MainManager is predfined, but this is done as an extension for those who want to get access to their own projects that they have in BIMsync.

This user will be marked as a BIMsync "Arena" user

Once the user is authenticated then MainManager can access the user’s projects/models in Bimsync

Possible to see on BIM user if he is authenticated in BIMsync or not

BIM model import and revision

Next thing to do when the BIM user has been authenticated is to register and import the models from BIM sync. In this action you can select which BIM user and in the BIMsync projects dropdown list, all projects that this user has in BIMsync are listed up. You mark the models that you want to import.

It is also possible to add some models that this user has added in BIMsync to an existing MainManager BIM project.

We have also added a new action to get latest revision of a model in BIMsync. If the model has been edited in i.e. Revit and after that in BIMsync, those revisions on the models can be updated in MainManager by running this action. If you want the models to be up to date at all times this action could be set up to run automatically frequently.

Some more new actions are ready, i.e. to show all project members in BIMsync - List Bimsync project members

And another action - Add BIMsync members to projects

This action can be run on multiple projects at a time, and it will give the "Arena" user(s) access to projects created by MainManager application.

First and foremost, those changes should not affect the end users of BIM in MainManager, as this is for an extended use of BIM in MainManager and BIMsync. The MainManager application user is created automatically and is used when registering BIM projects and models.

Purchase contracts

For those using Purchase contracts in V11 - it is now possible to configure and use in MainManager FM also. For others interested in this module and its features, please contact your project manager for further information.
