New features

3047 - Changes to load sequence in BIM-viewer and other improvements

Two new fields in the BIM model module:

  • Load sequence: Controls in what order this BIM model should be loaded
  • Default exclude from viewer: This controls if this BIM model should be by default be loaded in the viwer or not

When the BIM viewer is loaded for given BIM project then the BIM models will be loaded in the Load sequence order. If many models have the same load sequence then they will be loaded at the same time. The BIM viewer can be used after the first batch of models have been loaded (even if there are more models pending to be loaded).

When each batch of models have finished loading into the viewer then a message will appear with info about which models were loaded:

Each user can now load/unload models into the viewer and the system remembers what is loaded:

If the button is green for the model then that implies that the model is loaded in the viewer, and if red then it is not loaded. The user can then press the button load/unload each model at own will.

The checkbox in front of each model will hide/show the model in viewer like before, but note, if model is hid then it is still loaded in the viewer and will take resources.

There has also been implemented new setting for the viewer called Render settings:

  • Regular is the normal setting and the loaded models will be rendered at all time in the viewer.
  • Incremental is a new setting. Then the elements will be rendered when needed. This setting makes the viewer use less resources on the client than the regular setting.

The system will now also remember what settings the user has selected:

  • Render settings: Regular or Incremental
  • View settings: Regular, Countour or Sketch
  • 2D viewer: Shown or not shown

Finally, it is now possible to right click building spaces in the 2D viewer. Then the action menu for that BIM element/building space appears and the use can open the property boxes for the building space and/or BIM element.
